Rev. O. Benjamin Sparks, Temporary Supply Pastor
Dr. O. Benjamin Sparks, our Temporary Supply Pastor beginning January 1, 2012, retired from Second Presbyterian Church in Richmond in 2007 after serving as Head of Staff since 1982. Following retirement, he was Interim Pastor at Westminster Church in Nashville, TN from January, 2009 until August, 2010. Ben was ordained in 1965 following graduation from Union Theological Seminary (Union-PSCE). Since that time he has served in churches in Scotland, UK, Roanoke, VA, Jacksonville FL and Nashville, TN. A Doctor of Divinity was conferred on Ben by Davidson College where he also received his undergraduate degree. Ben has led mission trips for youth and adults to Malawi and other trips to Accra, Ghana and London. We welcome Ben and his wife, Annette to Chester Presbyterian.
Aubrey L. Lindsey,
Director of Music Aubrey L. Lindsey has been Music Director/Organist for Chester
Presbyterian Church for over thirty years and is responsible for the coordination
of our music program that includes handbell, children, youth and adult choirs.
He personally directs two of the choirs, the Chancel Choir which is responsible
for the weekly liturgy and the Chester Presbyterian Festival Choir which
is a concert choir that forms the nucleus for an annual Weekend of Music
which attracts singers from throughout the Commonwealth. In addition to the
Weekend of Music, the choir tours internationally having performed at Cathedral
Notre Dame in Paris, at the 60th anniversary celebration of D Day in Normandy,
and at various locations throughout Scotland and England.
Linn Coghill, Membership Coordinator Linn guides new members through the church membership process and
coordinates many of the fellowship activities of our church. She is a graduate
of East Carolina University School of Art and worked many years in television
and advertising. Linn and her husband, Tom, have one son and have been members
of Chester Presbyterian since 1992.
Kim joined the Chester Presbyterian Church Preschool team in August, 2011. She is responsible for the operational management of the preschool, event planning, coordinating with teachers and providing information to the families about the preschool. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in Psychology an a minor in Business. She has experience in Training, Communications, Marketing and Public Relations. Kim and her husband have grown up in the Chester area and have been members of CPC since 2003.
